In 2025, the Rotary Club of St. Marys launched the Mugoiri School - Kenya – 2025 Project, beginning a hands-on partnership with Mugoiri Secondary School focused on practical, sustainable improvements.

Club members travelled to Kenya to support critical infrastructure upgrades, including proper washroom facilities and hygiene initiatives β€” laying the foundation for a long-term relationship.

In 2026, the partnership continues with the Mugoiri School - Kenya – 2026 Project.

This year’s priorities include:

β€’ Expanding student access to computers and digital literacy
β€’ Providing sewing machines to support hygiene and self-sufficiency initiatives
β€’ Renovating additional classrooms
β€’ Renovating the school kitchen that prepares daily meals for students

These initiatives build directly on the progress achieved in 2025 and reflect needs identified in collaboration with school leadership.

A 2026 visit to Mugoiri Secondary School is currently being planned. As with previous years, Rotarians participating in the visit will do so at their own expense.
