At our recent club meeting, we proudly celebrated the spirit of Rotary through the presentation of six Paul Harris Fellowships. Two members were recognized for their continued financial contributions to The Rotary Foundation, a testament to their unwavering commitment to Rotary’s global mission. In addition, four others were named Paul Harris Fellows through the generous transfer of recognition points—honouring their exceptional service and dedication to our club and community. These recognitions reflect the many ways Rotarians give—both through resources and through action—to create lasting change.
Past District President Katherine Hahn presided over the presentation.

There's more....
In the past Linda Schuyler has shared her Foundation account points with fellow members who participate in the EREY program. She wanted to recognize the volunteer work of two members who have made an outstanding contribution to the success of our club and our community. Linda has transferred points to top up their account to reach their first PH recognition.
Peter McAsh joined our club 5 years ago and Linda quickly recruited him to work with her on the Communications and Public Relations Committee. He has been eager to learn and wanted to take on more responsibilities. He is our Website Administrator and social media expert. He has recently taken numerous courses so that he could give the club's website a fresh new look and the executive has authorized him to switch our website to the new Nova format which will provide the club with enhanced committee and volunteer modules to make life easier for Committee Chairs and the membership to conduct Rotary business. Peter is involved with most committees and he has been our Hybrid meeting host.
Linda sponsored our next PH recipient, Diane O'Shea who joined the club 6 years ago. Linda quickly recruited Diane to work with her on the Literacy Committee. Diane was very interested in how the committee worked and is currently responsible for the book selection process for our guest speaker program. Diane is eager to help wherever she can and is involved with numerous committees. It's not uncommon to find her in the kitchen overseeing club volunteers preparing big batches of vegetable soup which will be frozen for use at the Food Bank.

Mark Oliver has chosen to transfer points from his Foundation account to honour his wife with a PH recognition.
Our next Paul Harris recipient has been host Mom to 5 Rotary exchange students. She has sent one son on Rotary Youth Exchange. She has attended 2 Rotary International Conventions, and she has been left alone far too many times while her husband was away on Rotary business. She has volunteered many hours as an unofficial "second-in-command" for the Brews & Food Fest. For the past 7 years she has been a 'Kitchen Warrior' at various youth exchange conferences. Over this time, it has been calculated that she has helped prepare 4751 meals for students, often working 15+ hour days on her feet for zero pay. It is a great honour to present Janet Oliver with a Paul Harris Fellow. Thank you, Janet!
