Holy Name School grade 7 & 8 students visited Sparling’s Bush today to learn more about invasive plants. Retired educator and Rotarian Ron Aitken led the group on a walk through the bush, identifying native and non-native plant species as they went. The students then worked in groups to pull out invasive plants. In just a short time they were able to fill many garbage bags with invasive plants. A great effort! Much more work needs to be done to rid the bush of invasive plants.
