Andrew Middleton made a presentation asking for the club's endorsement of this project as our signature international project to celebrate our 100th anniversary. The aim of the project at Mugoiri Secondary School 30 miles north of Nairobi, Kenya with 450 students, is to change this:

to this:

The project falls directly into one of the areas of focus of Rotary International. Nairobi Parklands Rotary Club has agreed to be our partner in the project, a bank account will be set up in Kenya, a project description with costing has been completed; as well as a community assessment.
The cost of the project is US $35,000, of which $15,000 will need to be raised by our club.
We have a team of 12 Rotarians and their spouses who are interested in going to Nairobi in November to help finish the project. Travel expenses are paid by the travelers. 100% of funds raised support the project.
I hope to speak at the district conference and convince other clubs to join us in this very worthwhile project.
You may ask yourself, Can the club afford this? I would say, Can we afford not to?
A motion was made to support the project and the club voted to support the project.
