Service & Impact

Service is at the heart of Rotary St. Marys.

Our focus is on making a practical, positive difference — responding to real needs in our community and supporting initiatives where time, skills, and resources can have lasting impact.

Local Service Comes First

Most Rotary St. Marys service begins locally.

Members support a wide range of community-based efforts in and around St. Marys. Some projects are highly visible; others happen quietly behind the scenes. Together, they reflect the many ways service takes shape when people contribute in different ways.

100 Acts of Service

As part of our centennial, Rotary St. Marys introduced 100 Acts of Service to recognize the many forms service can take.

An “act of service” may include:

  • hands-on volunteer work
  • support for community organizations
  • planning, coordination, or leadership
  • sharing time, experience, or expertise

The project highlights an important idea: service is not one-size-fits-all — every contribution matters.

Extending Our Reach

At times, Rotary St. Marys supports initiatives beyond our local community when there is a strong connection and a clear opportunity to help.

One example is our work with Mugoiri Secondary School, focused on education and practical infrastructure. These efforts grow from member relationships and are approached with the same care and accountability as our local projects.

How Service Happens

Service projects emerge from:

  • community needs
  • member interest and expertise
  • realistic commitments of time and effort

Not every member participates in every project. That flexibility allows Rotary St. Marys to sustain meaningful service over time.
