YOUTH SERVICES

In celebration of Youth Services, we have several stories and/or pictures to share with you about what our former, present and future inbound/outbound exchange students are doing.

We asked for comments from our YE Officer, Mark Oliver and here is what he had to say....

"The St. Marys Rotary Club continues it’s long-standing commitment to Rotary Youth Exchange.

Currently, St. Marys students Laura Vink and Angelica Pearce are in Germany and Croatia respectively. They have less than two months left in their exchange.  Both students report that they are having a wonderful time

and they are looking forward to their Rotary-organized Europe trip which leaves soon.

Nikolas Cuello Carrizo has less than three more months left here before he returns home to Chile in July.  He is now living with his third host family, Brent & Teri Shackleton.  Please keep Niko in mind if you are doing

any travelling. If you’re not planning any trips why not invite Niko over for dinner or a BBQ?

Nareekan Phoksawat, from Thailand, is our next inbound student. She will arrive in late-August. We currently have two host families lined up for her and we are looking for a third. If you are interested in hosting her or you

know of someone who would make a great host family please let Mark know.

We are sending out four outbound students later this summer. Morgan Askew has been assigned to Taiwan. Samantha Berry is going to Colombia. Abigail Luyten will be living in the French Alps for her year. Kevin Oliver

is looking forward to his exchange to Jutland, Denmark.

In the coming months it will be time again to recruit outbound student candidates to go on exchange in 2018 / 2019.  If you know of a student you believe would be a great candidate please refer them to Mark."

Thanks Mark. You and your team are doing an excellent job with our Youth Exchange Program.
